MTW is made possible with the volunteering efforts of MTW student and alumni parents. Read below to learn about how you can get involved to help us bring the joy of musical theater to kids in San Francisco!
Ways to get involved
Volunteer Ushering
Volunteer to usher a performance for our Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance or Broadway Bound classes.
Contribute to Wine fundraiser
Contribute to MTW's Wine fundraiser!
Simply drop off a bottle of wine valued $20 or more to your class and your instructor will add it to our coffers for the annual fundraiser.

Ways to donate
MTW is a registered 501c(3) California non-profit corporation and all donations are tax deductible. You can donate to MTW personally or through a donor advised fund (DAF) through the traditional process.
In addition to specialized grants, MTW can accept individual donations the following ways:

  1. Participating in the FORTE Reserved Seating program
Usher a GSGD or BB performance
For Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance (grades K-2) and Broadway Bound (grades 3-5) performances we do not charge for tickets. You'll greet audience members, build connections with other MTW families, and assist with other tasks associated with the performance. Shows last approximately for 30-45 minutes and take place on a Monday or Tuesday near the end of the semester.

Main Stage Volunteering
Did you know that nearly 100% of Main Stage performers have parents who are volunteers?
Volunteer roles can include ushers, green room support, ticket sales, photographers, cast party producers, and more. If your child is in the Main Stage program, the Director will coordinate with you to find the right volunteer role and schedule. You will be invited to a special volunteering training at the beginning of the term.
If your child is not in the Main Stage program, please reach out to see what volunteer opportunities are available.
The Main Stage performances would not be possible without the wonderful participation of parents - thank you!
Other ways to get involved
Become a Board Member or Advisor for MTW
If you're interested in making a longer term commitment, you can consider joining the MTW Board of Directors or Advisory Board. Both require a 3-year minimum commitment, which helps us guarantee the long-term success of the organization. The MTW Board guides the organization's strategic direction and contributes to MTW's long-term sustainability through financial planning. It does not require a minimum donation amount and is open to any MTW community member.
In this role, you will:
  • Engage monthly with the MTW Board
  • Plan and attend the MTW gala performance (twice per year)
  • Assist with increased volunteering responsibilities including marketing, fundraising, community outreach, financial planning, space planning, strategic planning, and more

The Board of Directors are a group of parent and alumni volunteers and MTW senior staff who meet monthly to provide support and assistance in pursuit of the long-term growth and health of MTW. FORTE Program for Main Stage Shows
Support MTW
The FORTE Reserved Seat Program is designed to raise additional funding for MTW by charging extra for tickets to a Main Stage production.
Donations range from $100 to $1,000, depending on the varying numbers of tickets.
Benefits
Donors receive reserved seats in a premium location for their chosen performance and priority theater entry.
Saturday Premium
All Saturday evening tickets, including FORTE tickets, have an increased price due to the gala pre-show celebration.
FORTE program details
Our FORTE Reserved Seat Program is specifically designed to raise funds to help support MTW’s high quality productions, including lights, sound, sets and costuming.
Donation categories range from $100 – $1,000.  In recognition of your generosity and support of our FORTE program, you will receive tickets with reserved seats for the performance(s) of your choice. You will also receive priority admission to the theater.

  • PRESTISSIMO: $1,000 (10 seats)
  • PRESTO: $750.00 – $999.00 (8 seats)
  • VIVACE: $500.00 – $749.00 (6 seats)
  • ALLEGRO: $250.00 – $499.00 (4 seats)
  • ANDANTE: $100.00 – $249.00 (2 seats)
